What it is

Originally developed in Russia from an ACTH fragment. Approved in Russia for stroke and cognitive disorders. Known to dramatically increase BDNF and NGF and to modulate dopamine.

Mechanism of action

Modulates melanocortin and BDNF/TrkB signaling, increases dopamine D2 expression, inhibits enkephalin breakdown, and is neuroprotective in ischemic/stress models.

Reported benefits

  • Acute focus, motivation, mood lift
  • Reduced stress reactivity and mental fatigue
  • Used in Russian protocols post-stroke and TBI

Evidence notes

Russian-language Phase III data exist for stroke recovery. Western data limited. Biohacker community uses it heavily as a nootropic stack with Selank.
