Most-reported side effects

  • Vivid dreams
  • Mild lethargy first few days

Don't use if…

  • Pregnancy
  • Active cancer

What it is

Synthetic analog of pineal-gland Epithalamin developed by Khavinson. Best-known peptide associated with telomere lengthening, melatonin restoration, and circadian normalization in aging humans.

Mechanism of action

Upregulates telomerase activity in human somatic cells, normalizes melatonin secretion, downregulates senescence markers, and modulates pineal gene expression.

Reported benefits

  • Improved sleep architecture and melatonin production in older adults
  • Telomere lengthening shown in human cell cultures
  • 20-year Russian cohort study reported reduced mortality

Evidence notes

Khavinson group long-term Russian outcomes (ethics methodology debated). In-vitro telomerase activity is well established. Western trials minimal.
